A Family of Six Set Free!
I have incredible news to share—news that fills my heart with gratitude and hope. A family of six has just been set free from a life of slavery in the brick kilns!
These photos capture their very last day as brick slaves. Among them is Waseem, the eldest child. His story is heartbreaking—he lost his father earlier this year, and his mother passed away last year. With no parents, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, who already had three children of their own. Together, all six of them were trapped in slavery.
Waseem had never known life outside of the brick kilns. From childhood, he carried the weight of this bondage—and on top of that, he endured the trauma of being sexually abused. His story is one of deep pain, but today it is also one of freedom.
Because of your support, Eden and I were able to step in and rescue this precious family. Not only were we able to secure their release, but we also made sure they had the essentials to begin again—food, clothing, and shoes for each child. We even covered three months of rent, giving the father time to find work and start providing for his family with dignity and hope.
This is what freedom looks like. This is what transformation feels like. And this is why your partnership matters so deeply.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for standing with us. Because of you, Waseem and his family are no longer slaves. Because of you, an entire household has the chance to step into a new future.
We celebrate this miracle together, and we look forward to the day when there are no more slaves…and no more unreached people groups.
With so much love and gratitude,
Mindy
